In Seratar (Seraphant locality) and Seradihi, Surya Nepal Aadharshila initiated a sustainable approach to road construction using green plastic technology. This innovative and environmentally friendly method involved utilizing non-recyclable plastic waste to create robust, durable roads. The previous success of the Green Road model in Kushmawati of Shuklagandaki-7 has led to its replication in Seratar.
The first project involved upgrading a 125-meter road near Simara Market, which connects Wards 2 and 3 that had long been in disrepair due to potholes. Surya Nepal played a major role in completing the construction of this road. The second project focused on upgrading a 100-meter road in Simara to address waterlogging issues during the monsoon season.
Parsa Wildlife Sanctuary, which is spread over 913 sq. km, hosts a remarkable array of wildlife—around 37 mammal species, 490 bird species, 31 butterfly species, and 336 plant varieties. However, lately, wild animals have been straying into human settlements in search of water which has resulted in human-wildlife conflicts. To address this pressing issue and safeguard the lives of both humans and wildlife, Parsa Wildlife Sanctuary devised a plan to construct a water harvesting dam within the forest. The dam will provide a stable water source for animals and prevent runoff from Halkhoriya Lake.
Shree Manjushree Adharbhut Vidyalaya is a government school in Ramthali (Ratanpuri), Nijgadh-12, Bara, which caters to 250 students and 12 staff members. The school’s current water source is a natural spring from where water is collected and used for drinking—which has its limitations. Hence, there was a pressing need for the installation of a permanent overhead tank and an underground water tank. Surya Nepal, under the banner of Aadharshila, constructed a water tank in the school premises to facilitate an uninterrupted supply of drinking water for the students and staff.

Located in Tahahun, Shuklagandaki Municipality Ward-7, the Dangdunge Land and Watershed Conservation project is an essential drinking water source for the local community. These springs are under constant threat of erosion due to their precarious location. In response, the dedicated board members of the Dangdunge Land and Watershed Conservation project initiated the construction of an access road leading to the project site, ensuring convenient commutes for the local population.
Situated approximately one kilometer northwest of the Surya Nepal Seratar factory, Kaaure Community Hall lies within the historic precinct of a ‘Shiva’ temple. Over the years, this small-sized community hall has been utilized for various purposes, including public gatherings, weddings, social rituals, and more. However, with the increase in the number of households (50+) in the area, the hall's existing capacity has become inadequate to meet the growing community's needs.
Surya Nepal has constructed a 200-meter green plastic in Kathmandu. This CSR initiative is a part of joint research project to evaluate and compare normal asphalt road with plastic mixed asphalt road.
The green plastic road technology involves blending shredded plastic waste with traditional road construction materials, resulting in more resilient and weather-resistant surface. Studies have shown that such roads can last up to three times longer than conventional asphalt roads, offering enhanced resistance to water infiltration and pothole formation. By repurposing low-value plastic waste, plastic road not only provides practical solution to waste management but also contributes to reducing the carbon footprint associated with traditional road construction methods.
